A young couple sits on the floor of their house listening to the rain. The doors wide open, windows propped up and the breeze of the sudden storm is cooling down their sweltering house. The A/C is off - as is the power- but that doesn't matter since the A/C is broken anyway. Broken it will remain until $3,000 magically appears in their account. Even if it did, they'd just blow it on a trip to Costa Rica instead. Priorities, people.
But it's ok. It's moments like this that makes them realize how satisfying it is to find joy in the little things. Like a cup of coffee made seconds before the power shut off. And a bowl of Cheerios found on the top shelf of the pantry (dinner). And the laughter that comes with a spontaneous game of "Would You Rather".
I love us.
